Concert Update, March 8

Aloha mai kakou,

This is to give everyone an update on Laua`e's benefit concert.

First, the family would like to thank everyone for their support. It's been simply amazing to see how everyone has stepped forward to help Laua`e, Kamana and their beautiful new daughter, Halialoha.

Second, updates: Laua`e gave birth on February 4th. There are pictures and a message from Kamana on the benefit website: http://benefitforlauae.blogspot.com/.

One week after giving birth, Laua`e began cancer treatment. Treatment will continue for one year. She's living at home in Waimea; she flies into Honolulu regularly for her treatment. She's doing well.

Third, concert updates: we have less than three weeks to go! Tickets are still available, so please purchase your tickets soon if you have not done so already. You may buy tickets on the website: http://benefitforlauae.blogspot.com/. We have also filled out our lineup for the evening, in addition to Kapono Beamer, Jon Osorio, Kamau and Keola Beamer, we will also enjoying music from Waipuna and Kupaoa!

We have also added a silent auction to the evening's events! We have generously received donations from many people, including Solomon Enos, Peggy Chun's family, the Polynesian Voyaging Society, Duane DeSoto and others!! If you have items you would like to donate, please let me know.

We are also still looking for volunteers. We need people to help with a range of things, including set up and break down the night of the event. You can sign up to volunteer on our Ning network: http://benefitforlauae.ning.com.

I have attached the press release for the event. Please help spread the word by sharing this email or the press release. Jon will be on Pakele Live http://www.pakelelive.com/ on March 25th (the Thursday before the concert) to publicize the event. If you know of other opportunities to help publicize the event, please let us know or feel free to share any of the information in the emails or on the websites.

Finally, if you have already purchased tickets or made a monetary gift to the family, you will be receiving a reminder/thank you card in the mail this week. It has a beautiful picture of the family on the front, including the baby. Look for it in the mail!

Jon will be going on a trip out of the country soon, so if there are any questions about the event or you would like to help in some way, please email or call me. I can be reached at kehaulani.watson@gmail.com or on my cell, 808-392-1617.

Again, thank you to everyone who has stepped forward to make this event so special!! The family truly appreciates all the love and support they are receiving. If you haven't had a chance to kako`o and want to, there is still time and lots to do!

It's going to be an amazing night! We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Mahalo nui!
